What's on offer
There is a wide variety of things happening
and on offer on our premises. Many of these are listed
in our normal weekly
diary. But in order to get a better picture
we thought we should tell you a bit about them.
Alcoholics
Anonymous: Phone (029) 2037 3939 for a
confidential chat and a talk about meetings.
Al Anon: Help for the families affected by alcoholism. Phone (029) 2037
3939 for more information.
Bible Study: We have
regular mid-week Bible Studies on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays
of the month starting at 7.30pm and generally lasting
an hour. These include space for worship which often
draws on prayers written by the Taizé community.
We also hold an Ash Wednesday Agapé and an Eve
of Maundy Thursday communion.
3rd Cardiff Boys Brigade:
Part of an international youth organisation offering
boys a wide range of activities and social events. These
include both games and more educational pursuits. Anchors
is for boys aged 6-8yrs, Junior Section is for those
aged 8-11yrs and Company Section for those aged 11-16yrs.
4th Cardiff Guides:
Part of a worldwide youth organisation offering girls
a varied programme which includes craft, homecraft skills,
outdoor activities, enhances their personal development
and gives them fun and enjoyment. Rainbows is for girls
aged 5-7yrs and Brownies for those aged 7-10yrs.
Day Centre: Provides
lunch and fellowship for older folk.
Music Group: A group
of musicians who meet together to prepare music for
our services. The group has great fun together and is
under the direction of Andrew Wilson-Dickson who wrote
The History of Christian Music published by Lion books
and which is the standard text on this subject. Andrew
likes working with singers and instrumentalists of all
ages and levels of ability.
Saturday Morning Coffee:
A chance for a sit down and a cuppa as a break from
your shopping.
Treasure Chest Playgroup:
For children aged 2½ years to schoolage on Mondays,
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9.15am till 12
noon. The playgroup has been running for over 20 years
and is a member of the Wales Pre-School Playgroups Association.
Children of all backgrounds, including those with special
needs, are welcomed into the playgroup.
Trefoil Guild: A meeting
for anyone who has been a member of the Guide movement
in their younger days.
UCY: A ladies' group
that has a wide programme of speakers and occasional
outings. Every year UCY raises money for a charity.
Weight Watchers: A
programme to lose weight and maintain that weight loss.
